LOCAL SOCA ARTIST PASSES

Police have confirmed Soca artist Swiper was found dead at his Paradise home early yesterday ( January 24 ) morning.

The body of the 50 year old who real name is Garfield Maitland was reportedly discovered by a family member.

Maitland who had an obvious love for the art form and who gave us the popular track “more belly than bam bam” years ago made yearly contributions to Carnival in the form of Soca Renditions and Christmas in the form of Parang Songs.

A post mortem was expected to be conducted on his body as police investigations continue.
